It's Over and Out for Cornhuskers

Just look at Sunday's Kansas City Star after Kansas ended its 36-game skid to the Cornhuskers. And talk about piling on. Jayhawk coach Mark Mangino, who was nearly knocked to the turf in the postgame celebration, is worried about bumps and bruises his players received in the melee. Maybe he should concern himself with Texas, a real team, because Nebraska certainly is not. The Cornhuskers need a win to become bowl eligible, and it won't be easy. Optimistic about the chances for victory against Kansas State and Colorado? Hardly. Just follow the money. A drive to raise $50 million to improve facilities has yet to hit 40% of its goal. And we're about to enter year three of the fundraiser (some registration).
