A short recorded message from Rick Neuheisel was sent to thousands of telephone numbers this week by the UCLA marketing department. In the one-minute message, Neuheisel introduces himself as coach, and you can listen to it by clicking here. We also added a version in MP4 format that you can listen to by clicking here.
Here is the transcript of the message, pilfered from Gutty Little Bruins:
Hi, this is Rick Neuheisel and I’m excited to be the new head coach of the UCLA Bruin football team.
I wanted to take a moment through this broadcast message to reintroduce myself to the Bruin family, Bruin donors, season ticket holders, and many of the UCLA alumni and southern California football fans. I am thrilled to be back home and I, like you, believe UCLA to be the finest school in the country. We offer the single best combination of academic and athletic excellence.
Nobody can offer the student-athlete or our fans a better overall experience. The UCLA campus is beautiful. We’re situated in the nations second largest media market and we play our home games in the country’s best known stadium: the Rose Bowl.
The team across town has risen to national prominence, and it’s time we meet this head on. I’m excited to lead this program to the national stage and I can’t wait to get started.
Make plans now to join us on Saturdays in Pasadena.

You'll need to use Apple Quicktime to listen to the recording. When I tried to use Windows Media Player, I got an error message stating it did not recognize the .m4a file extension.
