Just consider that Oklahoma has won seven national titles and Boise State was a junior college in 1968. And to top it off, Bronco running back Ian Johnson, who works part time as a plumber's assistant and suffered a life-threatening injury during a game against San Jose State, proposed to his girlfriend on national TV.
