The Florida State Creminoles
Florida State's Lorenzo Booker, taking a handoff from quarterback Drew Weatherford last season against Boston College, took a trip out of Tallahassee on May 20-21. When he returned, Booker found that his residence had been broken into and a computer, X-Box gaming system and Nike sneakers were missing. Property value: more than $1,700. Police arrived and began an investigation, and they soon found a Nike glove with No. 1 on it, which happened to be the jersey number of Booker's former Seminoles teammate, Fred Rouse, who was booted from the team on Jan. 20. Tallahassee police eventually tracked down Rouse on Saturday outside the house of Sen. Al Lawson. Rouse allegedly had shown a gun at the home and asked for Lawson's son, Al Lawson III, which prompted the call to the police. When police arrived and asked Rouse for identification, three pills fell out of his pocket that preliminarily tested as Ecstasy. The arrest of Rouse eventually led police to A.J. Nicholson, another former teammate of Booker's who was kicked off the team shortly before the Orange Bowl. A warrant has been issued for Nicholson, who is in Cincinnati with his new team, the NFL's Bengals.
