Father Says Webb Felt Threatened
Ivory Webb, Sr., a former police chief for Compton and the father of Ivory Webb, the San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy who opened fire on an Air Force police officer in a controversial shooting, said that his son had fired because he had felt threatened and had a "split second to react." Support for his son continued to roll in from his former teammates at Iowa and coach Hayden Fry, but the family of Elio Carrion, the airman who was shot three times by Webb, is urging the deputy be arrested. In a related development that some are viewing as retribution because of its timing, the man who videotaped the incident was arrested on a felony warrant from Florida (some registration).
