The Magnificent Seven

UCLA (plus 21) -- The Wiz believes this is one of the strongest plays of the season. Just too many points for a team with an explosive offense. OK, the defense does bend and often break, but UCLA is a team that won't intimidated going against the fearsome Trojans.

Louisville (minus 15) -- Giving a lot of points, but not as many as we would have a week ago. With Brohm out, the Cardinals are being downgraded. UConn is being upgraded after beating South Florida. But UConn really won that game on two plays (long run, kickoff return). We also believe the Huskies will suffer a bit of a hangover after beating the Bulls. We see value in Louisville.

Army (plus 6) -- The Black Knights have played much better in the past month and seem poised to finally make a run at beating Navy. In another rivalry game, we will take the points.

Hawaii (minus 3) -- San Diego State could be playing its last game under Craft, plus the general rule of thumb with Hawaii is play it at home and against it on the road. In the final regular season game, we plan to go out a winner.

Colorado (plus 27) -- No reason to believe the Buffs will contend, but 27 points? We were not impressed with Texas against A&M. How many times can the Longhorns run Vince Young on the quarterback draw?

Louisiana State (minus 1) -- This figures to be a slugfest, but the Wiz is not sold on Shockley, the Georgia QB. The Dawgs were fortunately last week to beat Georgia Tech and the feeling here is that LSU is simply the better team, be it only slightly better.

Central Florida (minus 1.5) -- Tulsa should be able to pass against the Knights, but we will go with the home team. Speaking of coach of the year, how about O'Leary? Seriously, has anybody done more with less in such a short time?
