College Football's Version of Deep Throat

His identity may never be known, but an email tipster going by the name "Peter Wright" sparked the investigation into Rick Neuheisel's participation in a high-stakes basketball pool. The NCAA swooped in, Neuheisel was fired and the Washington program hit rock bottom. Wright, who claimed he once participated in the pool, emailed NCAA gambling investigator Bill Saum, "The guy is dirty and I personally feel that gambling on NCAA-sanctioned events when you are a coach in the NCAA is a travesty." In his last email, he wrote to Saum, "Love to work for you one day." That will never happen. Saum was reassigned within the NCAA after the case. It was disclosed during the Neuheisel trial that Saum once owned International Gaming Technology stock.
