NCAA Violation at Tennessee?

Last time we checked, it was against NCAA rules for "student-athletes" to appear in advertisements that promoted anything other than the university as a whole. Thus we bring you the latest edition of the Smoky Mountain News, a weekly newspaper in Western North Carolina, which ran an ad in its latest edition for Southeastern Sports Medicine.

The ad reads, "When Tuscola High School graduate and University of Tennessee quarterback Jonathan Crompton injured his shoulder, he chose Dr. Jones of Asheville to repair it." A photo of Crompton, Tennessee's backup quarterback, in prominently displayed in the ad.

Thanks to Loser With Socks and Outermonvolia for the tips!
