This Billboard Is Off the Charts

Mission Accomplished. Where have we heard that before? But in this case, it's true. One Peat's billboard is up and the location could not be better. It's across the street from the peristyle end of the L.A. Coliseum. Needless to say, the people responsible for this have hit the jackpot. If you haven't been following this soap opera, here is a primer. In 2003, Louisiana State and USC split the national championship. The Tigers were named the bowl championship series titlist, and the Trojans were voted No. 1 in the final Associated Press poll. But the BCS winner is regarded as the actual champion these days, at least according to LSU fans. As the hype over USC's appearance in the Rose Bowl this past season reached a crescendo, Tiger fans felt slighted. Their championship was being trampled on. So a movement started to clarify matters, and the results are now visible. Thanks to College Football Blog for the photos and video, which you can view by clicking here.

wow. maybe, instead of across the street from the coliseum, they could have put it where people will see it. even sc students won't see this billboard. looks like the onepeat people did a lot of research on this one...

That's gonna get tagged pretty mercilessly; the question is whether gangbangers, kiddie tagging crews, or drunk fratboys will get to it first.

indeed, for discussion on just how few USC students will see it: check out an article from Monday's Daily Trojan

not visable to campus (or campus traffic) not visable to the freeway....I hope these guys are proud of themselves for their waste of money. I'm sure the 10K was not needed back home in Hurricane devistated Louisiana. athen again, we allknow about the pathetic Bruins and Texans who gave to this project. Good work loosers, if you want to be acknowleged as champs, learn to act like champs.

but then again, we all know how "true" champions and USC fans such as yourself can't even spell. I can see your daddy's money was well spent. Fight on Dumbasses

In answer to the billboard's question, yes, USC should have been in the championship game for 2003, and they were six inches away from winning the championship game for 2005, though frankly Texas appeared to be the better team most of the night. That LSU fans believe that beating the third best team in the country in one of those years makes them even with USC is a little looney, wouldn't you say?
