Sarah Rothschild, Miami Herald: Miami coach Larry Coker has hired two assistants, but he still has three openings to fill (registration).

Eric Hansen, South Bend Tribune: Notre Dame coach Crewcut Charlie Weis says he will consider making changes in how the Irish prepare for bowl games after the Fiesta Bowl loss to Ohio State.

Bill Buchalter, Orlando Sentinel: Florida coach Urban Meyer isn't taking any time off from recruiting. He's already going after and offering scholarships to high school juniors.

George Schroeder, Oklahoman: Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops hired an offensive line coach and shuffled the responsibilities of two others. The Sooners also released their 2006 schedule (registration).

Howie Stalwick, Idaho Statesman: Nick Holt lasted two seasons as Idaho's coach. He's leaving to become defensive line coach of the St. Louis Rams.

Marcus Nelson, Palm Beach Post: Florida Atlantic and Howard Schnellenberger will have to wait a bit longer for the matchup against South Carolina and Steve Spurrier.

Paul Finebaum, Mobile Register: After Auburn lost its bowl game against Wisconsin, Tiger coach Tommy Tuberville wasted no time in making changes.
