If Georgia Players Could Vote for Heisman

While Tim Tebow appears to be the last man standing in the Heisman chase, he isn't receiving any support from Georgia players.

Bulldog quarterback Matthew Stafford said he would give a vote to Oregon's Dennis Dixon if he wasn't injured. "No one else. I can't think of anybody," Stafford told Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald.

When pressed for another candidate, Stafford said: "We'll say Darren McFadden. He's been doing it for a long time and he deserves it."

Tailback Knowshon Moreno also went with McFadden, as did linebacker Rennie Curran, who said: "I know I wouldn't vote Tebow because he didn't have too much of a good game against us. That knocks him out. McFadden, he's all right. I think we'd destroy him, too."

Georgia sacked Tebow six times in its 42-30 victory on Oct. 27 in Jacksonville.

Quit whining, Florida fan. Maybe your team should have protected Tebow a little better, and maybe Tebow should learn to scramble away from the pressure.

yeah scrambling would be a good idea if Tebow wasn't so slow. I could have 20 rushing touchdowns if I just kept diving up the middle from the 2 yard line. Tebow is good, but a lot of it is the system he is in and the talent around him. Texas Tech, Fresno State, Hawaii QBs put up amazing numbers, but everyone knows that it has a lot to do with the system. If Tebow played for Oregon, they would be lucky to be in the top 25 at all right now. If Tebow wins then the Heisman is officially a joke.

I see that the only one of these comments that made any sense, is the only person with balls enough to leave his/her name. The system...what are you smokin'? Tebow is only a Sophmore, and is running/throwing circles around everyone else, all while playing in the SEC. The only reason he was sacked so much against GA, was that he was injured. Not making excuses, but you gotta give him some slack for playing through the pain the way he did. Diving up the middle from the 2 yard line...someone needs to turn on a Gator game once in a while to see what's actually going on. If he played for a team in the PAC-10, they could've given him the trophy in Sept. He would have twice the numbers if didn't play in the SEC. You ignorant, gutless, wanna be real football fans, anonymous panty waists should actually think before you comment. GO GATORS!!!!!

Georgia can talk smack because Tebow wasn't impressive against them. It was his worst game of the year, by far. Next year he'll show them. Even so, Tebow will show them next year. Hell, Tebow was very injured and still had nearly as good of a passing day as Stafford.
