Select the cheapest shot of the year:
Iowa's Mitch King Arizona's Jason Parker Texas Christian player Arizona State's Justin Tryon Texas A&M's Kellen Heard Texas Tech's Kellen Tillman Michigan's Shawn Crable

Iowa's Mitch King pulls off the helmet of Ohio State's Doug Datish and punches the Buckeye in the face. No penalty.

Arizona's Jason Parker crashes into the left knee of UCLA quarterback Ben Olson, who suffers a torn ligament.

Baylor's LeQuantum McDonald gets his left leg broken by an unidentified Texas Christian player.

California's DeSean Jackson gets flattened by Arizona State's Justin Tryon while trying to field a punt.

Texas' Colt McCoy is hit after the play by Texas A&M's Kellen Heard.

Texas Tech's Kellen Tillman, on the sideline, flattens Texas Christian's Marcus Brock and gets ejected.

Michigan's Shawn Crable delivers a helmet-to-helmet hit to Ohio State's Troy Smith.

As an Ohio State fan, I really don't think the Crable hit on Smith was cheap. A penalty, sure, but not cheap by any stretch. He was trying to make a play and came in a bit late and a bit high. That's football.

Anonymous said...

Cheapest that I saw: An Arizona player destroyed BYU's Nathan Meikle in the process of fielding a punt back in the season opener. Not sure the Arizona player (not 100 percent certain it was Meikle, for that matter), but it was vicious, dirty stuff.

Anonymous said...

The only one that is a flagrant cheapshot is the one by the guy on the sidelines. Most of these were pretty weak.

Anonymous said...

Taking someone's helmet off and punching them in the face? While he didn't get injured as a result of it, that's about as low as it gets.

Anonymous said...

If you're gong to mention Cal how do you look over this play:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWn6uQ2eLqw

Oregon's Dante Rosario plants a RUNNING DROP-KICK on a Cal player who is starting to stand up in the middle of a play.

That's fucked up.

Anonymous said...

I'm sure this has been mentioned before but...

Colt MyCoy... from Texas?

Do his parents hate him?

Anonymous said...

Nothing with the FIU vs Miami brawl? I'd give honorable mention to the guy on crutches.

Anonymous said...

For the record, Colt McCoy is the best football name ever. The cheap shot on him was beyond blatant. He was taking his helmet off and heading towards the sideline. Come on.

Did anyone see the hit on the UCLA qb at the end of the USC game? That was vicious.

Anonymous said...

I think the hit on Cowan was pretty damn cheap. The SC linebacker lead with the helmet and cracked Cowan in the head. No penalty. Thank god UCLA pulled it out because that was total BS. Take that SC the only way you can get to Glendale it by taking the 110 to 5 going north.

Anonymous said...

I'm also a Buckeye, and I agree that Crable's shot on Smith wasn't that cheap. Most of the rest were pretty bad. However, what the A&M guy did to McCoy is simply ridiculous; the guy was unbuckling his helmet when he was hit. Just because the resulting injury was not as severe as some of the others doesn't preclude it from being the cheapest.

Anonymous said...

Shit, that McCoy hit is an assault and battery complaint just waiting for the signatures.

if i remember correctly, they didn't even call a penalty on that play. tedford was furious.

Quote: "Shit, that McCoy hit is an assault and battery complaint just waiting for the signatures."

all I have to say is...

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

It's a football game you douche! Late hits happen all the time. If Cart McCoy wasn't such a pansey maybe it wouldn't have been so bad.

Anonymous said...

Heard hit on McCoy was far from a cheap shot. McCoy became a defender after throwing interception. Whistle had not blown and McCoy was walking away from Texas sideline. Only crazy Texas fans would select this play.

Anonymous said...

The only reason I see that Kellen Heard's hit is ahead in the polls is because everyone is sucking Colt's d**k. And BTW, if he was the greatest player ever, his team wouldn't have been held to one touchdown by the "inferior" aggies.

Anonymous said...

The Crable hit on Smith looks a lot worse in slow motion. Normal speed and that's only a split second late.

LC Fashion Watcher said...

No clip of the Wisconsin player bending Breaston's knee back after he was down?

For shame.

And the Crable his wasn't a cheap shot. Come on.

You guys should do a bit more homework before posting the TCU video. Hecht's number is fairly obvious and a quick search of the TCU roster would have revealed his position and name. for the record here is some perspective from both sides:

http://combinedartsmedia.com/TCU/hecht_clip.html

Anonymous said...

That was the A&M sideline that colt was walking toward. Kellen hit colt about 1 sec after the defender was down. The only reason this is a big deal is because of the tu fans crying like babies.

Anonymous said...

Colt McCoy was not heading towards his sideline, He was moving in the direction of A&M's sideline. coincidently, the play (an interception) was heading in the very same direction that Colt was heading too and he happened to be the only player upfield of Heard that could be blocked. Colt was not a QB in that play, He was a defensive player at that point since A&M was in possession of the ball. He was free game to hit.

Anonymous said...

Anyone saying the Heard hit was cheap is either an idiot or wasn't at the game...If you could see the whole thing happening, the play was still going, the whistle had not blown, and for some unknown reason McCoy decided he could take off his helmet and not be involved in the play. He's a defender at that point, Heard blocked him. If McCoy was paying attention like he should have it wouldnt have looked bad at all. Geez, why dont we just put a red jersey on the guy.

Anonymous said...

Anybody defending the hit by the A&M guy is a complete bafoon. The only way to describe that play is "dirty". Only an Aggie fan could defend such blatant filthy play. Probably not the dirtiest hit, but definitely dirty.

Anonymous said...

Colt was pissed because he threw an interception and was taking off his chin strap like a baby neglecting the fact that he is now a defender for the return of the interception. Of course the cameras don't show the angle that the hit is less than one second after the interception. A local news channel in Austin did show an angle where it was clear that McCoy was hit with 1:23 on the game clock.

Anonymous said...

i was at the aggie game friends, the whistle had blown...

Anonymous said...

the cheap shot on McCoy happened after the play was blown dead and that is why Coach Fran apologized for it. most aggie fans are delusional and should leave game analysis to those that actually know what those arrow keys on the remote control are for.

Anonymous said...

Nice to see that the aggies are as classy as ever in victory.

There is a reason that only aggies root for aggies, and this is pretty much it.

Anonymous said...

I love how its all TU fans this and Aggie fans that. Nothing about it being a cheap shot. Idiots. And calling him a baby? Why dont you bitches sac up and strap on the helmet? Fuckin keyboard warriors.

Anonymous said...

Even Aggy can't enjoy their one moment in the sun this century without throwing a cheap shot into the mix. But that's classic Aggy for ya.

Anonymous said...

Awesome. Even when aggy wins, they still lose. 10 days after their biggest win in 7 years and the only thing anybody talks about is their cheap shot...

POOOOOORRRR AGGIES

Anonymous said...

Even after beating Texas, A&M still finished below them in the Big 12. That is the funniest part of the whole deal. They would rather finish 4th, and occasionally beat Texas. Meanwhile, Texas shines their National Championship trophy.

Even beating Texas can't make A&M important; they don't matter.

Anonymous said...

The Aggies can't stand the fact that UT is their biggest rival, but A&M is not UT's biggest rival. They know they will never tie up the series (UT 66-35-5), so they get all giddy over the occasional upset.

Anonymous said...

Why the hell do Aggies call Texas "tu"? I dont live in Texas so can someone explain this to me? I seriously dont know.

Anonymous said...

they got tired of their sheep and had to find something else to do, like saying "tu" instead of Texas. they don't even like the Texas flag that the Longhorns bring out before the game. it's their own flag and they don't like it becuase the Longhorns have it and they don't. it all comes down to tradition. they think they have it, they don't. building champions since...1939? give me a break... the only tradition they have is losing. they don't even have a winning percentage at home, yet people say they have a great home field advantage. wrong again. they aren't even worth playing anymore. most of the time they hurt our schedule instead of helping it. they really are worthless. i was at the game this year. The hit was after the first whistle. the whistles you hear in the video are in response to late hits, including the colt hit. the players were also dancing around while colt was laying motionless at the end of the game. i know they were celebrating a win, but when you call yourselves the greatest home of tradition and class, you could atleast show it sometimes. anytime an opponent's player is down, every longhorn puts their horns up. it shows you have respect for everyone and not just sheep.

Anonymous said...

wow, who's the poor sports? who's doing all the whining here? you t-sips, that's who. you're pissed that you lost a game in which you were two touchdown favorites at home and now you're going to what bowl... oh yeah, the great Alamo Bowl... not a BCS, not the Cotton, not even the Gator, just a 45 minute trip down I-35. that hit didn't affect the outcome in which texas was beat in every facet of the game. i'll admit the hit was late, but not so much that it was a cheap shot. and i dont think Heard meant to hit mccoy late. how often does a defender intercept the ball in open field and not try to advance the ball upfield? yeah, not often if ever. Heard, seeing the pick, has to think Dodge is going to be running upfield, except he didn't. stop crying t-sips, go to san antonio and bring your recruits because you are going to need them next year... maybe even a qb that can take a hit? that snead guy that was really good and probably better than mccoy, yeah he's gone now.

all you anon commenters, man up or shut up... see you in san diego!

Anonymous said...

What about Kyle Caldwell of Arizona State hitting Arizona's Willie Tuitama from the back in an obvious late hit. Tuitama suffered his third concussion of the year, and Arizona players claim that Caldwell was telling them he would do it during pre-game stretching.

Sure, tuitama probably shouldn't have been out there, already suffering 2 concussions one at the LSU game on the first play of the game (not a dirty hit) and ucla (im pretty sure the jason parker late hit was semi retalitation)

Anonymous said...

The people on this blog that claim the hit on mcCoy was not late are insane and perhaps a massochistic (spelling?) Not only did the hit take place after the play was over (it was definitely over), but heard goes right for mccoy's shoulder. I mean come on. You can see his teammates calling him a dumbass too. It was just another criminal getting some aggression out by slamming whitey to teh ground like a little bitch. If you think it was fair game, then I should be able to slap you across the face with a hammer.

Both sides bitching here make both of us look bad. Stop acting like little bitches, and go complain to your mother or you sheep. I, personally, am tired of hearing aggy act all big and strong b/c they actually won a game, and my fellow longhorns act like children and reverting to acting like aggy b/c they don't like aggy picking on them for a change. Grow up. So we lost for the first time this decade to them. Big deal. Congrats aggy. I still think the hit was cheap, but not illegal....not all cheap shots are illegal.

Hook Em.

Anonymous said...

I'm a Gator fan and I have to be honest...you A&M guys must really hate Texas. Me and a bunch of my buddies watched that game and that is one of the cheapest shots we had ever seen.

And what is the deal with your guys in uniforms screaming and lining up like a bunch of homosexuals...that scared the crap out of us. I heard it is one of your traditions. You Aggies have serious issues.

Anonymous said...

I'm an assistant coach with the Iowa Hawkeyes and would normally not bother to post about such things, but the comments by some of the Texas Aggie fans are bothersome.

First of all, we are currently right in the middle of our UT film study, and were going over the A&M/UT game tape yesterday. A&M was the only team this year to successfully run on the Longhorns, so of course we want to try and incorporate some of the things they did, if possible.

Anyway, I will tell you to a man, every coach in that room thought the Heard hit on the Texas QB was late and dirty. When the A&M defender intercepted the ball, he immediately fell/tackled and the whistle blew....there was no return. I'm not sure what type of game feeds you are privy to, but we get all sorts of angles and let me say that the hit was clearly after the whistle. Now, the Texas QB needs to learn to always have his head on a swivel, but he was right in thinking the play was over.....because it obviously was. Let me also say that of this group, I don't think the A&M late hit was the worst, but it does seem odd that it is the only one being defended.

Coach P.

Anonymous said...

Thank you Coach P.

I am a Longhorn, and I live and work with many, many Aggies. To a man they are great guys, and I wouldn't trade them for the world. But, they will defend the most ridiculous things just because it is associated with A&M in some way shape or form.

I can also guartantee you that just about every Aggie you will ever meet was happy when he did it and would support him doing it again. Aggies are stand up, honest, and good people. But when it comes to their hatred for the Longhorns, al sportsmanship and sense goes out the window.

Anonymous said...

I won't agree with the Gators on much considering that I am a Buckeye and we will do battle for the NC in a month but I must agree with him regarding the aggies. I never knew much about the aggies and their odd traditions other than the 12th man before that ball squeezing clip hit the internet.

After I watched that, I did a little research on the aggies and quickly reached the conclusion that they are the biggest freak homo losers I have ever heard of.

Anonymous said...

Here is what people outside of Texas need to understand about A&M. It is run like a cult. Everything they do is measured against UT. Considering the resources that are available to them in a state full of div 1 athletes, their athletic program has to ranked in the bottom 10 in the nation when it comes to competitive sports. Because of this combined with their eternal Jihad vs. UT, they will justify any tactic (on or off the field) if it will help them get a victory.
Kellen Heard was a known thug in high school, but the Aggies will probably erect a statue in his honor because of the hit on McCoy. Aggies are proud of it as can be seen by their comments on this subject. As for the Corps, lets hope they stay at home during the Holiday Bowl, so that they don't embarrass the entire state of Texas. I'm betting that there will be a few Californians who will buy a ticket to the game just so they can gawk at sideline oddities that are the Aggie Corps. Ruff tuff, real stuff as they say.

One final comment about the former Aggie cheerleader who is Gov. of Texas. He is a closet gay who has backed his way into more than just the office he holds.

Anonymous said...

classic aggie...
It's funny how the other cheap-shot candidates' fans aren't here defending the indefensible.

Speaking of which, Wow! on the Aaron Rouse. Yeah, just a late hit, but how many more steps could that qb have taken? Still, not as outright dirty as the aggie.

And to anonymous who said:
I still think the hit was cheap, but not illegal....not all cheap shots are illegal.

The fact that the officials penalized him AND ejected him should put that whole "...whistle hadn't blown" or "...not illegal" argument to rest, wouldn't you think. It was illegal, it was dirty, it was cheap. And the aggies, I guarantee you are buying him beers, and will for years to come, all the while spouting off about their "honor" code......

Anonymous said...

After reading the faggies comments, it makes the bomfire collaspe funny

Anonymous said...

Don't talk about the bonfire. I'm a true orangeblood, but lets keep football and tragedy separate. Many of the aggies here have said things they should be embarrassed about, but that comment was the worst. Hook Em.

Anonymous said...

Obviously the Crable hit was not a cheap shot. And comparing it the USC hit on the UCLA QB, it wasn't that vicious. I thought the officials missing that penalty was going to mean a USC win and a Michigan snub. Little did I know, Florida's coach was on the campaign trail.

Anonymous said...

My god, I do not know what these TX AM people are thinking! The guy was taking his helmet off, the play was over! There really wasn't any kind of return on the interception at all. The ref THREW HEARD OUT OF THE GAME! They don't do that for nothing.

I don't root for TX or TX AM but after seeing that and hearing your lame excuses on that thug's behalf, I hope you lose every game you play.

Anonymous said...

Has anybody posting comments here even watched the video of Heards hit? Heard never turns his head to see if the play is over, and a split second before he hits McCoy you can see a longhorn still playing hard. If it was late it wasnt by much, and was no way on was it on purpose. tu lost, they got beat all day in every part of the game. it is sad that this play has been blown out of poportion.

Anonymous said...

Heard is by far the biggets POS I have seen...

Heard is exactly what the Aggies have always been about. Cheaters!

Never trust an Aggie.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Yes, the Crable hit is well-known, occurring at a critical time in a crucial game. It was not a cheap shot though, just a poor decision. As others have noted, I don't see how the USC hit on UCLA QB Cowan isn't mentioned. Now THAT was a vicious hit. I was surprised that Cowan was able to get up. I honestly thought that he was going to be seriously injured.

Anonymous said...

You guys don't know the worst of it. After Heard's "thug" shot and after he was thrown out of the game he was still talking to the fans. Colt's family was there and his little brother was crying, upset that his brother was hurt. Heard, being the class aggy that he is was hollering at Colt's family telling little brother that he hurt him and he'd f'in do it again if he had the chance.

Anonymous said...

Had Heard led with his helmet as opposed to simply pushing colt down I would agree with the ejection. I feel it was a personal foul but not as sinister as everyone makes it out to be.

"And what is the deal with your guys in uniforms screaming and lining up like a bunch of homosexuals...that scared the crap out of us. I heard it is one of your traditions. You Aggies have serious issues."

Hmm I don't think that players getting into the game or lining up to sing the school song means they are homosexual. Pretty sad if thats the only thing you could come up with.

Also, bonfire is not a joke.

Honestly, I give a thumbs-up to any hard shot that has a possibility of knocking some humility into DeSean Jackson's head. If he doesn't gain some weight and ends up in MLB, he'll make Pierzynski look like a choir boy.

Anonymous said...

and the t-sips are still whining... late hit, cheap shot, whatever... call it what you want, it didn't change the outcome of the game so really what's the point? the hit that knocked mccoy out was perfectly legal. is cow-nation trying to pin their lost bcs hopes (LOL) and alamo bowl season on one play? stop crying and bring a better effort next year. until then, just shut up already and take your trip to san antonio.

Anonymous said...

"Heard, being the class aggy that he is was hollering at Colt's family telling little brother that he hurt him and he'd f'in do it again if he had the chance."

Kellen was "hollering" at Colt's family? How do you figure that? Are you Colt's little brother? Kellen did not yell at Colt's family and nor did he tell anyone related to Colt McCoy that he would "hurt him again if he had the chance". How delusional were you when you wrote this?

Anonymous said...

"Aggies are stand up, honest, and good people. But when it comes to their hatred for the Longhorns, al sportsmanship and sense goes out the window."

I guess chop blocking is sportsmanship and sense then? Texas fans act like their team never commits personal fouls. There were MULTIPLE chop blocks by Longhorns that could have broken legs just like the one during the TCU-Baylor game. Please get over it, horns. It was a late hit, yes. It should have been a penalty, yes. Ejection? That's up to the referee. It's also up to the referee to throw out players who commit multiple chop block penalties. Luckily, the same horn didn't get caught more than once or it would have happened for them too. I hope Colt is ok, but this is football and it's going to hurt sometimes. Also, please stop complaining about the hit that aggravated Colts shoulder. It was legal and simply football. Aggies don't whine about the helmet-to-helmet shots on McGee in 2005 and we LOST that year. Plus, it could be that McGee got right back up and scored a touchdown after each one, but what do I know?

Anonymous said...

The Faggies are all excited about winning 1 game in 7 years. I'll take that every 7 years. You've got to let them win every now and then; otherwise, they wouldn't have a rivalry. What the faggies really can't stand is the fact the Longhorns would rather beat OU than them, so it was a good year.

Anonymous said...

Dear texas fans,

I am sorry you lost your last two games, and are going to the alamo bowl. I am sorry your feelings are so easily hurt as when your pretty-boy qb get's lit up due to his inattentive/premature decision to remove his helmet prior to our star defensive lineman's excellent block, which also occurred before the whistle was blown. I am sorry he was leveled on the next series in a rude way also.

Lastly, I am sorry his excellent backup completed a great pass to an aggie defender to end the quiet little game in your stadium, and that this capable backup is transferring out of the program.

PS: next we will be beating you in bball, and next season we will win at Kyle Field. We are also recruiting more D-linemen with bad attitudes about opposing QB's. Hope you enjoyed the Vince-era, have a great off-season.

Anonymous said...

in case you didn't know, kellen heard was recruited and planned on playing for Miami before heading to a&m instead. do you think he would have been a standout citizen for that team as well...

Anonymous said...

The hit was late. We all got it and so did the refs. It was called and he was ejected from the game. I am an Aggie and it was a late hit. You act like nothing was called! I really wish Dodge would have run that interception back for a TD as Colt was running off the field toward the sidelines. I mean he is the only QB is the country that doesn't have to play defense when he throws an interception obviously!

Yes we were excited to beat you horns as you have been excited to beat us. We beat the defending National Champions and you would be excited too. I mean since you don't consider us your "rivals" anymore a loss shouldn't be that big a deal to yall. That's funny because every Texas fan was devastated by the loss and I loved every second of it. We also rushed for 5 times as many yards as any team has on your (ha ha) #1 rated rush defense.

Aggie fans are classy and we LOVE everything about A&M. If that's a cult then so be it. If I remember correctly wronghorn players were arrested earlier this year for drugs and violations. Oh and don't forget someone named Ramonce Taylor......That sounds like thugs to me. UT fans can always dish it out and cannot take it. You are the most arrogant fans in the country and hopefully now you have no reason to be.

One more thing Aggie players/fans would never cheer for an opponent being hurt. NEVER! We are always respectful of other teams and would never cheer for an opposing player down. I can guarantee that!

Finally, I totally agree that the Corps does weird things that I do not even understand! You guys should come to a game at Kyle Field and then you'll see why we love A&M!

Gig 'em!

Kellen Heard got 2 personal fouls on 2 consecutive plays earlier this year. The guy has a problem. Sooner or later it will cost them a game. Then the Aggies will throw him under the bus.

Heard is a POS and any aggie who defends him is a POS as well.

No wonder aggie is the most hated of any Big XII school. You loose with out dignity and win without honor.

Heard is a freshman. you're right in the fact that he needs to not commit so many penalties but he's young and he'll learn. You guys act like he got away with everything. all his penalties were called and if he does not shape up...he will not play. plain and simple

Also, Fran apologized so drop this whole late hit thing. UT fans have to blame the loss on something and this is how they do it. The hit was late and it did nothing to change the outcome of the game. Get over it...you lost this year!

Anonymous said...

Also UT is definitely the most hated school in the country. Everyone hates you and wants to crush yall in everything. All LSU fans can't wait to beat you this weekend!

Anonymous said...

Heards hit was late and cheap, that has been established, but not the worst. The worst was the hit on the TCU player out of bounds. My bood runs orange and will till i die. If the Aggies want to celebrate this then let them. The rivalry record (UT 66-35-5) is all that needs to be said. So you won a game, it took you 7 years to do it. You aggies really have something to be proud of, but we accept the challenge and look forward to returning to Kyle Field next year where we will see if you really are the weinners, oops, i mean winners you say you are. And we do love to beat the Sooners more because beating the Sooners actually means something in College Football. Which is why the aggies celebrate beating the 2005 National Champions. How long has it been since the aggies won a national title? How about just going to a BCS bowl game? I surely cant remember. The truth is you cant go to the Big one every year, but weve been more than you so celebrate your victory, you need it more than we do.

Auburn fan here - War Eagle!!

Ok...had to get that out of my system. Just wanted to say I had an awesome time in Austin when I was in town, it is one of the coolest cities in the States. Never been to a game but did spend time on sixth street one saturday and the Texas fans were awesome (even bought my drinks). Guess southern hospitality is not limited to the deep south.

That Heard hit is unjustified and takes my vote. Seems like there is alot of venom from the Aggies towards Texas. I can understand that since Texas habitually kicks the crap out of A&M. I also saw the Aggie "nut squeeze" on youtube, ouch!! My question is, what do the Aggie guys do?

Anonymous said...

Fans of Texas A&Enema claims that UT fans are arrogant, and some definitely are. But here is the truth: at the core of every aggie is a belief that they are inferior and so they over-compensate to hide this by doing their best to minimize the other school by using "tu" instead of UT. It is very much like an old southern redneck refusing to change his views on black people and continues referring to them as niggers. Hell, the students still do black-face stunts. I had hoped that over the years there would be more normalization at that school and less intolerance of those who are not a "member", but I've given up on that. It appears that the propensity to change their ways is on par with that of your average meth addict.

Anonymous said...

The funny thing about all of this is that the late hit that Heard had on McCoy did not prevent McCoy from playing past that incident and was not the cause for the loss. Yes, it might have or not have been appropriate, but the refs took care of it, McCoy got back up okay, thankfully, and kept playing. Just as the longhorn players who were arrested were reprimanded, Heard was reprimanded as well. It still had no effect on the end of the game which was totally fair, so why fight over nothing.

One would think that a University that supposedly prides itself f on honor and tradition would be outraged at these thugs’ actions. IMO, it further illustrates what a hypocritical POS your university really is.

Screw Texas A&M University and all those who support it. Go ahead and revel in your hollow victory. It is but one game. One win does not a trend make, it is an anomaly. Never ever forget that.

obviously we can't win a series with only one win when you are down 30 games, but it is a step there. But I want one horn to answer this, was the outcome of the game affected by Heard's cheapest of all shots. Personally, I don't like what he did at all.

The shot on McCoy was a dirty play that tarnished a good win for the A&M program. It wasn't the dirtiest of the bunch, but the player deserved to be ejected and only a fool would attempt to defend it.

If I were a TCU alum, I'd want that lineman's scholarship revoked.

I'm not that familiar with the teams from Texas, but the posts here from aggie fans speak volumes. And what's with the 'TU', 'Cart' McCoy and 'teasip' stuff? Is this a group of 7th graders posting?

To answer the above question by a Horn, no, the outcome of the game wasn't decided by Heard's hit. But, many Aggies are defending it and it is indefensible. Even his own players are chewing his ass after the play. The whistle had long blown. IMO, Snead should have started the game anyway. I believe had Brown done so we would have won. Snead played well against KState putting up 35 points. Our defense let us down in that game. Although, A&M ran on us very well, they didn't put up a lot of points. When you only score 12 you ought to lose against a talented offensive team. McCoy definitely wasn't right. A&M played better in this game, but I'll say this.........as we speak they are being out recruited and have been for years. As someone said, this was an aberation, nothing more. I see a silver lining in it for Longhorn fans. A&M has to keep "Coach Fran". Many Aggies were sorry to see him win because they didn't want to keep him. Now, A&M can't begin to justify firing him. He'll never match recruits with Brown. I was worried if Texas won A&M might really get a good coach and recruiter in there. Now, Brown and Stoops have nothing to fear in that regard.

"Also UT is definitely the most hated school in the country. Everyone hates you and wants to crush yall in everything. All LSU fans can't wait to beat you this weekend!"

^ Well I guess you can ‘hate’ us even more now!! 76-75 Texas, in overtime. I don't really think people wanting to 'crush us in everything' says they hate us. I think it just says they like good and exciting competition.

Oh, I almost forgot. To all the Aggies that are excited to play Texas this year... I'm pretty sure LSU spanked you guys on Tuesday. It should be a good game come February.

I go to A&M and I know it was a Late Hit, and frankly all I have to say to that is Gig 'em. It's a rivarly game, and frankly I'm upset Colt McCoy wasn't sent into a coma. I respect Heard, and I'm gonna go buy some beers for him in his honor...

Thanks and Gig 'em

to aggy that wanted Colt in coma..

I expected no less from you or any of your cult. Your hatred toward Texas is taught to you during your anal rape sessions in Fish Camp.

Please understand it is not Horns that have taken you butt virginity, but rather you Corps and your Dorm Floor leaders.

The more interesting aspect of this thread than the late hits is the information it provided regarding Texas A&M.

Up north Texas A&M doesn't receive much publicity which is unfortunate because you guys are hilarious. I guess the Steers (Longhorns) and queers (Aggies) line is true.

seriously, you Aggies are incredibly odd.

"One more thing Aggie players/fans would never cheer for an opponent being hurt. NEVER! We are always respectful of other teams and would never cheer for an opposing player down. I can guarantee that!"

Actually I have not ever seen other fans cheer as loudly after an injury as Aggies have. I have been to many games through the years, the worst I remember was in 1975. Heisman candidate Roosevelt Leaks was not injured by a late hit, but the fans celebrated loudly, waved their towels and were directed by the players on the field. Leak's injury was season ending and impacted the rest of his college and pro career.

I realize this is old history, but never is a long time.

I'm a UT alum and I'm tired of hearing abour Hearn's (or whatever his name is) hit. Why was McCoy taking his helmet off on the field? You guys are making UT fans sound like a bunch of sissies. You're an embarrassment to our University. aggy kicked our ass all over the field on T+1, get over yourselves and deal with it! We're still going bowling this year!!!

Well, I came from out of state to go to A&M. I did not know much about the school when I started. My history of the series starts in 1983, thats 23 years. A&M leads tu over the last 23 years 12 to 11. If you go back to 1975, its 16- 15 A&M..I really don't care what happened before that. As far as the hit..It was late and I am embarassed about it. Poor sportsmanship and no excuses. And Auburn dude, If I remember, the last time we played A&M smoked you by 20 with your greatest player of all time....Bo. Go crawl in a hole.
I was not in the corps, but I am an American. Have some respect. Some of those kids will and have died for your freedom. Footbal is a game, war is life and death. Would an ambush of american troops where bodies are blow apart be considdered a "cheap shot"? Lets get real here.

Anonymous said...

All right guys,

Let's bury the hatchet. The cheap shots are apparently not left on the field. I personally nominate Texas (or t.u. if you prefer) and Texas A&M (or Aggy if you prefer...which curiously keeps being used in the plural sense by students of such a "higher class" school) fans on this website for cheap shots of the year.

Bonfire: I lost 7 friends in that accident and it was just that...an accident. College age kids thought supervision and knowledge was there when it wasn't. The next time you make fun of those students (does it really matter what school they went to?) remember that someone who posted here went to 7 funerals in 6 days. It isn't funny or stupid...it is tragic, not a punchline.

As for those Corps guys "Squeezing their package", I think you see soccer players do this all the time. These freshmen are guarding the school mascot (which is why they are so close together). They are protecting themselves due to a several longhorns who have taken cheap shots at the cadets guarding Revielle. I wish that the person who got this video would have given it some context.

"Anal rape sessions at fish camp": WTF? Unbridled hatred at its worst.

"The players were also dancing around while colt was laying motionless at the end of the game...":

I doubt you were at the game, much less watched it on TV. He jogged off the field after Heard was ejected with approximately 1:20ish left on the clock. Despite excellent field position, we didn't score and you got the ball back. With 20 seconds left he was hit cleanly, but taken out of the game while immobilized on a stretcher (with absolutely NOTHING to do with this play). This is commonly done as a precaution when neck injuries may have happened and often was done for no reason. At the end of the game no one knows exactly where he was, but he wasn't on the field. Aggies everywhere celebrated a win. What do you want us to do? Quietly walk off the field and be sad? There were no additional injuries to your QB. No one on the Aggie bench rejoiced at actual injuries (maybe the fact he was out of the game, but not at his injuries).

That said, the discussion of the facts regarding Heard's hit is INSANE!!! Let's talk facts that everyone agrees on:
1. Heard made the hit
2. It was rough and on a QB with an injury from a previous game.
3. Heard was penalized (sp?).
4. Timing: Aggies and Longhorns aren't going to agree on this, so why not just agree to disagree? I think EVERY reasonable person should agree that if the whistle blew even 1 step before his hit, it was a late hit. If a whistle didn't blow, then it was a valid hit. Can we all just agree on that?

I'll assume the referees got it right and he was ejected for a cheap shot.

That said, I think McCoy was stupid for:
1) walking towards the wrong bench
2) taking his chin strap on
3) doing a bad acting job (he gets up after Heard is ejected and jogs off the field)

Guys, get a better O-Line or McCoy is gonna get hurt again next year.

Oh as for the last time we went to a BCS game: 1998 season - Sugar Bowl vs. Ohio State. From the Big XII and BCS's inception, we beat you to a BCS game and a Big XII championship. Our athletics program is currently 20th out of ~150 Div I programs. Texas is about #5. Both are high class institutions in different ways.

SoonerMark: to paraphrase, you are a POS and NO ONE likes the Sooners.
We win/lose with dignity and leave it all on the field. Fans like you make any team look bad. For the most part Aggies support their team. People like you try to make yourself feel better by putting other people down (especially those who have lost a game). You think you are creative for putting an F in front of Aggies. You have issues.

"No wonder aggie is the most..."
and your eloquent grammar shows just how much of an education OU provides. Which school is under NCAA investigation again?...talk about cheap shots!

Anonymous said...

SoonerMark,

One more thing. Why the heck did your school choose a SOONER as a mascot. By definition they are people who cheated to get something that wasn't rightfully theirs...

...I guess I answered my own question...

(Go ahead. Submit me for the cheap shot of the year, but it still doesn't answer the question as to why you would name your school mascot after grubby, petty land thieves)

Sorry, beg to differ with you. Texas won the first ever Big XII Championship by victory over Nebraska, 37 - 27, in 1996.

Get your facts straight.....

One thing that bugs me about the defense of the shot on Colt McCoy is that even if the play were still going on it would have been an illegal block in the back. There wasn't anything clean or legal about it.

"Would an ambush of american troops where bodies are blow apart be considdered a "cheap shot"? Lets get real here."

No. An attack on unsuspecting, defenseless civilians in a time of peace is a cheap shot. A hit on a player with his back turned trying to take his helmet off is a cheap shot. An ambush in the midst of war is just war. You're comparing apples and oranges.

"Which school is under NCAA investigation again?...talk about cheap shots!"

Hmmmm. How long ago was it that your skool was banned from a bowl game, precluded from a conference championship, and excluded from the coaches' poll? You can thank cheating for 10 of your 11 wins over us in the 80s and early 90s. So much for "winning/losing" with dignity...

The aggy is a funny breed. Let them have there fun. They beat the 'Horns this year fair and square. Let them show their ass by defending the Heard hit. Let the corps boys grab their raisins in a single file line. (The video of the collie guards were protecting their raisins was at a home game against Tech. Nice try blaming the 'Horns FTAB)

At the end of the day, 'Horns fans have the '05 crystal football, Austin, better lookin' women, Austin, integrity, Austin, relevance on the national scene and Austin. The Aggy has college station and a collie.

Gotta throw 'em a bone every once in a while I guess. Good game. See you at kyle field next year. Keep Fran!!

yep,

my bad on the whole Big XII championship thing. I was thinking of Tech.

The Corps boys "grabbing" themselves: I didn't say it happened that game, it happened in the past, therefore they protect the family jewels now. Leave it to the tsips to think that Aggies are always talking about them right now...Oh, and they weren't in a single file line, they were in a box.

NCAA did a lot of changes. To compare this team with those in the 80s & 90s is apples to oranges. Scholarship limits, better investigations, threats of the SMU death penalty, etc. This is a completely different system. I'm sure Texas has had shady dealings in the past and so have many others: OU, OSU, Texas Tceh (do a quick picture search on Yahoo! on tceh and you'll get why I call them that), SMU, etc.

I only talked about the present in that part of the discussion and was in reference to OU (again the tsips think I'm talking about them...)

This conversation is basically over, Heard screwed up. But everyone needs to back of the Aggies, A&M is one of the best state universities in the world, and so is UT. We do have a great home field and great traditions, yes we have had a rough stretch but we won this year and that is what matters. I am sick of this whole non-rivalry shit, if we aren't your rivals then don't show up to our midnight yell practice at the capitol and shout things like "Aggies fuck sheep," real classy. Texas fans are so quick to forget the 80's and 90's when we on top, just let it go and wait till next year, or basketball season. When we WILL beat you.

Happy Holiday Bowl!

I would like to quote my sister from the Texas v. Texas A&M game this year.

"Thats why it's called football, not girly ball!!!!"

And she yelled that in the middle of the Tsip season ticketers. That girl cracks me up!

Toughen up sips... See Stephen McGee if you have any questions. See ya in Aggieland next year!

Anonymous said...

Are you kidding me? Texas A&M's Kellen Heard received more votes than Iowa's King that rips a helmet off and punches a player in the face or Texas Tech's guy who was on the sidelines? I'm sorry, but you longhorns are kidding yourself. That was a late hit, but those other two plays are obviously cheaper. I think that if Texas had won this game there would not be this much controversy. I do believe that Heard and A&M apologized for this. Right? Didn't Texas knock somebody out on a cheap shot last year and not even apologize?

Anonymous said...

Please. UT people are the biggest hypocritical pussies in the world. Ask CU's QB after last years B12CCG what he thinks a cheap shot is. Losers

Q: Why the hell do Aggies call Texas "tu"? I dont live in Texas so can someone explain this to me? I seriously dont know.

A: Texas A&M University was in existence before The University of Texas. (Actually, Baylor is the oldest university in Texas.) Aggies are highly offended that UT is called THE University of Texas.

The way UT grads look at it is that, yes, A&M was started before UT, but the state realized the error of its' ways and then built a university that students could actually get a first-rate education without going east (Ivy League, etc.) or west (Stanford, etc.). A&M continues to strive to become one of the top state institutions in the country. UT is already there. They carry around an inferiority complex, not only about academics, but athletics, as well.

Why is the Arizona State hit on there? That is not a cheap shot, it's barely even a penalty. If that guy is another step slower that ball touches the return man and then he pops it right out for a fumble.

LOPEY-- you have definitely NOT ever played football and your name rhymes with "DOPEY". That is an extreme penalty because the receiver is unprotected. It is cheaper than cheap!Defenders are supposed to allow a 3 yard "buffer" zone around the receiver. I am 50 years old and I could run down and cheap shot an unprotected punt returner, it takes no skill. C'mon LOPEY, get with the program. Let's play some ball dude, you got nothing apparently. And football is obviously not yer game.
