Sign of the Times in Lubbock

Thanks to Bevo Sports, we have the latest example of how fast a rivalry can become overheated. It started on Nov. 19, when Texas Tech's Taurean Henderson scored a controversial touchdown on the final play to give the Red Raiders a 23-21 victory over Oklahoma at Lubbock. Three of the 13 plays on the winning drive were reviewed, including Henderson's run, which is now featured on this billboard in Lubbock. All hell broke out in Norman when the refs ruled Henderson scored (video link), and Sooner coach Bob Stoops was reported to have told referee Randy Christal, "You blew that call. Everybody says you guys blew the review, too." Oklahoma City sportscaster and former Sooner quarterback Dean Blevins wrote on his blog that Oklahoma was robbed, jobbed and screwed. A couple of weeks later, a hilarious video started making the rounds, with a (drunk?) Texas Tech fan heckling reporters, Sooner fullback JD Runnels and OU assistant Chuck Long — now the coach at San Diego State — during postgame interviews. "The Big 12 refs tried to rip us off, but we won anyway. Go Raiders!" They've no doubt circled the rematch in Norman, set for Nov. 11. Stay tuned....

There had to be one other rushing touchdown they could've shown. Then again this is Texas Tech. I guess with that being thier "signature" win, you better make the most of it.
